Leslie & David's Engagement Shoot

Happy New Year All! I havent been updating here for some time since I got back from Austin due to my father in the ICU and Cancer Ward at the hospital. But I'll save all that info for an update soon. I wanted to post an engagement shoot from late October and say how much I enjoy doing engagement shoots and getting to know the couples before the weddings. Although I havent been the most lucky in love so far in life, its inspiring to see two people so much in love and happy. It gives me hope and I like spending time capturing photo's of just the happy couple being natural together and having fun in a not so formal setting.
I'll be updating more weddings and also some past engagements and family shoots. My family is going through a lot emotionally right now and my dad is fighting for his life and battling brain cancer. So send happy thoughts and knowing there is hope gives us inspiration everyday.
Best Wishes to everyone and all your familes out there for a great 2009!

Aggie & Luke's Wedding 07.05.2008

Aggie & Luke are Blazer Fans so I knew right away we would get off to a great start especially when she told me that they were so happy the Blazers traded turnover prone Jarrett Jack ;) ! ! ! The ceremony was held at the University of Portland, where they met while going to college, which is a beautiful campus The inside of the church is absolutely beautiful and Aggie looked stunning in her dress. It was a fun joyous day and although everyone there seemed to have a camera, Im sure that I captured the best photo's :) Aggie and Luke are off to Alabama to start a new life together since that is where Luke will be stationed now in the Air Force but Im sure they will still rooting on the Blazers and missing Portland.
Here is the slideshow and some of my favorites from the ceremony and reception at the Legion Restaurant which has great food if you are willing to try new things I recommend the lobster and crab meat rolls. They had separated the sides into traditional Chinese food and American Chinese food and I can tell you, because I ventured to both, that those who didn't try the traditional Chinese food were really missing out.
Congratulations Aggie & Luke and good luck in Alabama, the Blazers will welcome you back for their Championship Parade in 2010!

Lauren & Shane

Sometimes an engagement shoot is just easy....and it helps to have the couple really into getting great photo's and having fun together. Lauren and Shane were exactly how I like my engagement sessions to go. They were open to anything and not afraid to be silly in public. Engagement sessions are a direct relation to Wedding Day photography. Although they aren't as formal but both are suppose to be fun and capture personalities and how in love the couple is. It also helps me to get to know the couple and really get the best out of them on the wedding day! It really helps when both are into getting the most out of it and do not view it as a chore which makes it fun for me as well. We shot in a coffee shop, Common Grounds, and although everyone was probably watching, the three of us were in our own little world having fun and getting great shots. I love the way this engagement session turned out and here are a few of my favorites so far....OK more than a few :)
